February 29-March 15 was a glorious time partnering with Church Multiplication Coalition and the local pastors and leaders in the Legaspi area of Southern Luzon in Philippines.

We were 51 team members strong. 16 came from Aglow Australia, Canada and U.S. The work was from early morning to late evening and days were filled with schools, homes, marketplace settings and concert venues with a government office every few days for courtesy calls. Cheryl Erbes and I led the team with Patricialyn Taylor and Teresa Etter’s assistance working with Rev and Mrs Boyonas of CMC and Rev Lem and Aglow National Leader Tessie Felicio as local ground team leaders. We had 18 concert celebrations and schools daily either in assemblies or room to room. We brought from One Touch Awakening 240+ pillows with cases to give away. See the One Touch Report for more info on what happened with the gifts. We experienced over 15,000+ in attendance with over 13,600+ praying the prayer of salvation. Without the count for the last two concert celebrations, we saw over 7,200+ in the healing lines with 50-70% of them raising their hands saying they knew they had received their healing. Who knows how many more in the next days ahead? Only God! Also without the count from the last two celebrations 99 home Bible studies were begun from all new converts. There were a significant amount of pastors working with us to church plant in the areas where there was little or not previous church. What an honor to “go beyond” as Apostle Paul always did. Team members, spoke in ways they had never done before, prayed for more people than they had ever prayed for, knocked on doors, went classroom to classroom sharing Jesus in schools! Praise God for open countries that welcome the good news of Jesus!

Next year – your turn! Jump in! Yes, its work. Yes, you’ll be tired. But oohhh the glory of God’s presence and fruitfulness of His Spirit!

From September 9 to the 14, eight Aglow women joined together, feeling called by God to go to New York City during the days of the tenth year commemoration of the 9/11 attack. We were advised by Pastor Rick Del Rio, not specifically to save the city, but rather to comfort the city and bring God’s hope there. Led by Mary Willette and Janet Mangum we visited much of lower Manhattan, Ground Zero, Wall Street, Trinity Church and Battery Park as well as the United Nations and spent time in prayer at each of these locations. On that Saturday we also joined with Pastor Rick’s church and many other Christian

organizations for a Sacred Assembly held on the East River that afternoon. On Sept. 11, we spent the day walking the streets near Ground Zero talking to, comforting and praying with many people throughout the day. The next two days we conducted two outreaches in the Lower East side of Manhattan (David Wilkerson and Nicky Cruz country) one for children in a nearby park after school and one for the women of the neighborhood. At each event we were able to give gifts and food as well as speak of Jesus and encourage those who did not know Him to welcome Him into their heart. Much ministry was done through smiles, hugs and love as well as prayers.
Here are two of the team members sharing their observations of the trip;

Judy Stittsworth- NYC was a wonderful experience for all of us. God was certainly faithful to us as we shared with the hungry, hurting and healing people everywhere we went. It is difficult to pinpoint a favorite part of the week. I was touched as Jody and Joann educated us as to the history of NYC; probably the most moving time was a

s we were permitted to sit at the walkway where the families exited after speaking their love messages of the lost ones in 9/11. Being there to pray in the Spirit and to be available was very emotional as we were able to pray with several people. I found the NY’ers to be friendly and open, more than ever at any other time I’ve been to NYC on a mission.
Mary Ellen Earles- My memories include spending time with the team God brought together, praying over the city. I loved the boat trip where we saw the beams of light over the city and felt it looked like God’s glory cloud over NYC.Especially enjoyed praying with the policemen, firemen and families of 9/11/01. I had opportunity to speak with two moms who lost their sons. I felt such favor from God as we sat during the ceremony so close to the exiting family members. When asking the policeman in charge of that area, why he allowed us to sit so closely to the activities, he said “You’re my favorite ladies.” We definitely had God’s favor. Jim, a first responder who wept in my arms, was certainly one I will never forget. The 9/11 ceremony in the future will always be more meaningful after our trip.
I also felt a renewed “recovery” among the New Yorkers who were glad the memorial is done and also closure for the families with the fountain/trees, names and Freedom Tower construction.I think that people are moving on.
Cheryl Erbes-God certainly surprised us on this trip. His presence was very evident wherever we went from the 9/11 ceremony, to the young Puerto Rican children and

In this program not only do we bring the love of God to the people in our host country, the Philippines, but we were also able to train and equip some of the younger generation as well. With the wonderful direction and care of pastors Lem and Tessie Felicio, we visited many schools, put on three conferences, five crusades, visited and prayed for three mayors, spoke on various radio programs and introduced those whom we encountered to the Lord. What a blessing to see the younger ones, who at the start were scared and afraid, grow in confidence and trust in the Lord as they shared their testimonies, drama, talents and prayed for many people in each place. To see their hearts grow as they put aside those fears and stepped out was heartening for all of us. At one point our Generation Project women were joined by some Filipino youth, at a conference put on exclusively for them, as they shared their joys, challenges and faith as well as answering questions from the other youth in the audience. It was not uncommon to see tears and smiles as God ministered to each of them as only He can. It is our hope and prayer that more of our younger members will again “take the plunge” and join us on trips throughout our country as well as the world encouraging one another in the love of the Lord.

Aglow once again joined many of our brothers and sisters to “be the presence of the Lord” at the Arab International Festival from June 16-19, 2011, in Dearborn, MI. Dearborn has one of the highest concentrations of Arabs outside of the M.E. whom all join together to celebrate their heritage. When one visits there, it is easy to feel that you are in an Arab land as noted by the Arabic signage, the wonderful Arab restaurants and the dress of the people. The smell of hummus and kebabs cooking, the lilt of the Arabic language being spoken and the sound of
the ‘ud’ and other Arab instruments make the atmosphere very festive. Alongside the approximately 300,000 who attended this Festival, there were 100-150 Christians who came to serve at the children’s tent by helping them with crafts and Father’s Day cards, to set up chairs and booths, to direct autos for parking, to keep the place neat and orderly, to help lost children find their parents and a myriad number of other tasks which are necessary. All the while we were praying and extending the love of the Father to each one in attendance. From chatting about our beliefs to even talking to a searching Muslim woman, we were able to “let our lights shine” in many varied ways. It was a wonderful opportunity to exhibit our care and concern to this people group right here in America. Come along with us next year for a unique opportunity to be used by God.

Children, adults, coming together to hear the word of God in two cities in Zambia working with Zambia national leader and her team. Encouragement, healing, training and salvations with one new church plant brought glory to God. The new rural evangelism and training equipment was put in place for the first time! Gathering crowds at night to watch the Jesus video, adults and children heard the good news of Jesus Christ.

Fran writes: Huddling dirty, raggedy children to keep them warm so that they could see the Jesus Film to the end. A 10-year old boy standing near me had tears streaming down his filthy little face as he said the prayer of salvation. It’s worth every penny to witness a personal transformation like this!

National leaders for Russia and Norway were leaders with Transformation Director and team members for Aglow encouragement and blessing with testimonies and messages of Gods love and power in May, 2011.

Fran writes: To Russia with Love: It was heart-breaking to see so many abused women in the Saami village in northwestern Russia. But it was heart-warming to be used to minister to them, and see the Spirit bring comfort and deliverance to many. The Aglow women in the area are strong, humble and a complete delight!

Electric green eye candy is the phrase Janet used to describe the beautiful green of the fields in New Zealand. New Zealand is home to 4 million people and 6 million sheep which dotted the green with fluffy white wherever we went. A Transformation team of six (Janet Mangum, Teresa Etter, Cheryl Erbes, Lois Koss, Georganne Schweichert and Patricia Lynn Taylor) arrived in New Zealand, the utter- most parts of the earth, eager to see what God had in store for us.

Part of team and Kiwi friends

We were greeted at every turn by welcoming Aglow sisters, and some brothers, who cared for us, transported us and guided us throughout their land. Such wonderful, joyous people eager to serve the Lord and learn about Him.Once we sorted out our vocabulary with such words as boot (car trunk), bonnet (car hood), tea (evening meal) and serviettes (napkins),we were ready to go.

We began our Kiwi journey in Christchurch at the National Aglow Convention. Despite the fact that a month before Christchurch had experienced a major earthquake with over 2.000 aftershocks, the women came, excited and ready to worship. The convention included two forays into Christchurch; one was to

On the streets in Christchurch

activate our share Partner experience, telling the stories of God in our lives to the many folks in the Square, singing, dancing and rejoicing in the Lord. Many of the participants returned with excitement and each van was abuzz with sharing on the return. Our second return to Christchurch came that evening when we attended a “concert” given by the youth of the city. They were amazed at our “older” ladies who danced and worshiped God so freely and expressively and we were blessed to pray for the Holy Spirit’s infilling for a number of young ladies. We were told later in our time in N.Z. that there was revival happening among the youth as a result of that evening concert. The convention close with a “fire” tunnel activation which birthed new things for New Zealand Aglow and the all of us that day.

Next was a quick plane flight to Dunedin in the south of the South Island where the winds come straight from Antartica. BBRRRRRR-Even for the few the Midwesterners among us. We once again went out into the city of Mosgiel sharing the good news even though it was raining, That evening we met together worshiping and thanking the Lord for what He was doing among us.

Friendly faces in the Square

The rainy day at Mosgiel

In prayer

Once again another flight hop to Wellington where we spent much of our time ministering with and to the Elim congregation of Porirua. This included an evening with the youth of the city, another evening called a Healing Evening and the Sunday evening service where we planned an interview format with Janet as Oprah. During this time there was a breakfast where we were able to meet some pastors, youth leaders and former Aglow leaders as well. Such faithful leaders they were. God was at work once again with His encouragement and inspiration.

The last meeting

Lastly we flew to Auckland , the largest city in N.Z. We were able to share and minister twice to groups of Aglow women both in Auckland and in Whangarei. What a joy to be with true “sisters” in the Lord as we traveled. God was faithful, as He always is, to meet everyone’s need, no matter what the issue and they responded with thankful hearts. We prayed for and with many of people and a number of miracles occurred such as healing of deaf ears which definitely excited us all. We have been told that the attendees are still talking and sharing about the evening.

What a beautiful land and wonderful people we encountered. It was an honor to be among them. The Lord is on the move in New Zealand, caring for His flocks and teaching them how to share His love among their countrymen with joy and love. We truly were in the land of New Zeal.

Beautiful waterfall
