No Longer Business As Usual ~Faith Like a Child

October 25th, 2012

The following blog was contributed by Jessica Wilson, Administrative Assistant – Prayer Office and Anti-Trafficking Specialist

I am still digesting what went on during our 2012 Aglow U.S. National Conference, and the amazing things that God did in our midst.  In particular, I have been mulling over the phrase “It is no longer ‘business as usual’.”

I recently re-read the book Alice In Wonderland and was struck by a great quote that seemed to explain this to me in a fresh way.  Alice had just picked up a piece of cake, expecting to start growing bigger or smaller after eating it and then –  She was quite surprised to find that she remained the same size.  To be sure, this is what generally happens when one eats cake, but Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.”

Isn’t that the epitome of ‘faith like a child’?  When God does unexpected things in our life, we should continue to expect the unexpected – not expect things to go back as they were before!  No more ‘business as usual’!

This is good food for growth for our new identity in Aglow. I will start even more trusting that this, “Faith like a child”, believing is the norm. We have no other choice. I feel that the Spirit of The Lord is saying whatever is not of this kind of faith, is sin. We have now grown up into Christ, even the head and to have doubt, fear or unbelief would be like a gold ring in a pigs snout.
I know that’s pretty heaven but, it’s truth! It’s faith or unbelief. Hot or cold, black or white, yes or no. Anything else is of satan. That’s what is says in the book of truth and that’s what I will think on. no more room for any excuses to be a safety net. Love Hopes, Believes and expects all things. this is real life.
Thanks Jessica for helping me fine tune up my soul today : )

Love this Jessica! How easy it is for us to sink into “business as usual”! But nothing about the Kingdom is “BAU.” God is always doing a new thing in us, around us, and through us. This is a timely reminder for me…thanks, Jess!

I like what Jesus said: “I am about my Father’s Business”. God has provided the great gift of Salvation. Every opportunity I get to tell someone about Jesus Christ is a matter of life and death. I am mandated to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

Prayer is so powerful, Pray without ceasing, intercession prayer, travailing and standing in the gap for lost souls to be born again into the Kingdom of God is so important.

We are in a spiritual war, like it or not. Our enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy.
He is relentless, mercilessly severe and persistent. He walks around like a roaring lion to devour, he is the accuser of the brethren.

When Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Son of man arose from the dead and went into the pit of hell and took the keys of death Jesus Christ made a public spectacle of him. Satan is a defected foe and he knows it.

The Name of Jesus is so powerful every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. All principality, power, might and dominion belongs to him.

Today is Good Friday, we remember Our Savior and Lord how he gave his life, obedient unto death. He took my place, he paid with his own blood for my debt. The wages of sin is death. I am forever indebt to him. I know he will come back for me and I have to be ready.

I am a joint Heir, I have everlasting life now. He came to give me abundant life.

When I fall in my weaknesses, he forgives and manytimes I have failed. I confess my sins. He is so faithful and just to forgive me. I have learned to forgive myself, because he loves and forgives me. I keep falling in Love with him over and over again. He is my God, my Savior and Lover of My Soul.

I have found if I can not forgive and love myself how can I forgive and love others? I have come to the realization that Salvation is a gift from God. I did not earn it. He is my rightousness, my rightousness is like a filthy rags.

The Word of God, Jesus Christ the bread of Life. I want and need more and more of him.
I live because he lives in me the “Hope of Glory. The author and finisher of my faith.

I need to finish my race that is set before me, not look back, keep my eyes focus on My God to love him with all of my heart, all my soul, all my mind and I can do all things with the Lord that strenghten me. “It is serious business for sure”. Jesus Christ is an intercessor and he is praying for all, that none should perish. Ephesians 2:8,9 ” For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. Today is the Day of Salvation. ” Business as usual “.
