Identity – The Key to Transformation

November 1st, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

I am sure that for those who attended our recent Worldwide conference in Houston Texas, whether in person, through webcast, or perhaps by viewing DVD’s following the event, that you clearly sensed the fact that Aglow has been on a journey of transformation these past few years.

Our journey is about discovering who we already are in Christ and behaving and thinking accordingly.

The journey we have been on has been referenced in letters to the field, blogs, and through information on our website.  New life has been forming over this ministry. Something of the Spirit has been stirring up our depths with a greater desire to move into a deeper level of relationship with God and to be a greater expression of His life, His goodness and His love in the world.  While on this journey, new dreams have been forming and new life has been taking shape.

Each conference (particularly since 2003) has been filled with profound messages, and prophetic words spoken to Aglow of God’s intent for this ministry.

A prophetic word is God’s way of telling you how He views you.  He speaks into the present, from our future, and calls us into our identity.   Prophetic words connect us with the next stage of our identity.  We become pregnant with promise and promises are designed to possess us for the purpose of God.

Aglow isn’t the same ministry we were in the early days of our inception.  We had an identity then and it served a purpose.  But times have changed and God has been preparing a people for the time in which we live.

Part of the change is the establishing of a new culture…a heaven to earth culture that dominates our thoughts and changes our mindsets from measure to fullness, from limited thinking to limitless possibilities.   He wants us to open up to all that heaven wants us to be.

Our journey is about discovering who we already are in Christ and behaving and thinking accordingly.

Be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.  Eph 4: 23-24

Walking in your true identity is the key to your transformation.  When you realize that Jesus didn’t die for you, but He died as you, then you also realize that you now live from a different starting point.  Your former self has died and you now live from the resurrection side of the cross as a new creation.  You were in Christ when He went to Calvary and you now live from a whole new vantage point because Christ lives in you….as your life!

Because He lives in you, you have the mind of Christ.  That means we refuse to entertain thoughts that are detrimental to our identity.  God will take the places where we struggle most and turn those places into a place of radiance.  He will transform fear, anger, impatience, insecurities and weakness into limitless possibilities.  You are His sign and wonder in the earth.  You are a witness of the truth and power of the resurrection every day!

You have a new identity!   Go to war with the things that you have allowed to coexist with your faith.  Live in your new identity.  Live in fullness.  Enjoy the limitless possibilities of who you are in Christ.  It is the time of your arising…it is the time of Aglow’s arising!

Thank you for your blog on identity the key to transformation. I believe this is a work of the Holy Spirit in us as we absorb the word that is coming out to us especially through Graham Cook and you Jane. I am in a testing place at the moment with my son just being diagnosed with grade 3 rectal cancer and all the treatment and operation to come. Would anyone who reads this blog please pray heaven to earth for him.

I am blessed tonight in reading blog and replies. The mention of our identity In Christ and His coventry with us is inspiring and energizes me for the year ahead with Aglow. I have on my prayer list provisions for the 2012 conference and the installments for the 2013 Aglow Cruise. God is limitless and I am excited to see Him provide. I pray that I reach the lost and see their salvation, and Aglow is just what we need to strengthen our spiritual growth.

“Unplugged & Re-wired” took place in my spirit from your words Jane, at Houston Conference.

The re-wiring …walking in a ‘new’ identity. Unplugged from the ‘old’.
Reading from your email about the Advent orchestra…all the instruments getting ready & being tuned, (and maybe a lot of them were re-wired for the special event )
Yes; what a wonderful sound will be heard from Aglow as we prepare and become ready.
Thank you Jane, and all the Board,…we are truly blessed to be a blessing in Aglow.

I accidentally came across this post this morning or is it “accident”? I believed all things are orchestrated by God and nothing is co-incident or accident.

Today is December 9th and I think it is never too late to respond to the “old” post.
I appreciate your blog Jane. I was never a “blog” person but reading your posts it really encouraged me to share my testimony. And I know this is one thing that will put a smile on the face of our Heavenly Father…..Witnessing.

This was my third experience with Aglow Conference. I am new in Aglow (since 2009). God appointed me to be local Lighthouse President Sept. 2009. Prior to that I heard of Aglow, attended few meetings in local Chapter and was never really interested any further. When I was appointed to become president I wasn’t even a member. How God changed and transform my identity with Aglow. Today our Lighthouse is standing strong in the Lord and within the last two years of my presidency seven people came to Christ and was born again. And now faithful servant of God. God had revived our Lighthouse in the merge of dying and He is doing new things. Our Chapter is alive and well!

At the Worldwide Conference in Houston, The Lord spoke to me and show me a great vision……He told me ” Child, do not underestimate the power and authority of Aglow Ministry. I Am the One who gave birth to Aglow. Aglow is My baby and whoever involves with Aglow are in Covenant with Me. And whatever they ask of Me I will grant them their request.” Then He showed me this vision……He circle His hand and in the circle was all the Aglow covenant countries in the world. And millions of Aglow people. Then He continue to tell me ” Child, do not underestimate your position as a Lighthouse President. I Am the One who put you there for My purpose.”

God really opened my eyes to see the truth about Aglow’s Identity. I realized then how I was deceived by my closes friend who has been in Aglow Board for years and have no regards nor respect to Aglow Ministry due to her personal bad experience. But God transform me through this Worldwide Conference and delivered me from this deception. I repented right there right then and I have been transformed since and promoted.

Today, God is calling me to host a City wide Prayer event ” A Call to Repentance” with the help of my church, we are calling all churches and leaders and warriors including the Mayor and the Chief of Law enforcement to join in.

God is ready to move in our city, perhaps even Our Nation. He had heard the cry of the people and I feel that I am here for a time such as this. I feel that this is the reason God kept me here.

I am an ex Buddhist and originally I am from Singapore, but The Great “I AM” brought me here for His purpose.

Praise Him forever and ever!! Amen.

A few months ago, the Lord told revealed to me that He was doing something very Big and powerful with my testimony. I have been in search and obedience to follow His promptings to find more of what that could mean for me. I had never heard of Aglow until a few weeks ago. I spoke with the President of the one in my area today and my heart and Spirit continue to be filled with great Joy. I found much information just now online as to what this ministry stands for and is about and I am overwhelmed. I KNOW that I am supposed to be part of this ministry and I KNOW its in a BIG way. This is truly amazing. Praying for wisdom and discernment as HE leads.

I so appreciate Jane’s blog comments. It keeps me focused and on course. The conference in Houston changed me in ways that words don’t describe. Baptized in the Spirit in 1973, a series of events strongly undermined my faith. I am stronger now and back on course with my Lord.

Conference 2012 Will be my first Aglow conference. The Nov 1 blog and comments by my Aglow sisters couldn’t have been more personal to me if I were in a conversation. I am so excited to take this message to heart and look forward to His continuing in my transformation in a way that others will see Him in me. I feel increased courage to “go to war” with the things that should go. I and grateful for what He has done In me. Thank you for sharing, I plan to read and reread this message.

WOW!! There has been this scripture that has been reverberating in my being “On that day you will realize that I AM in My Father and you are in Me and I AM in you.” John 14:20.

I have always loved John 17, Jesus’ prayer to the Father, especially v20-23 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I AM in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. I have given them the glory that You gave me, that they may be one as We are one: I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me. ”

Thank you for the reminder in a fresh way the He died AS me, indeed IT IS FINISHED!

I’ve heard time and again that Christ died FOR me- never have I contemplated that He died AS me. God has been whispering to me that a season in my life has passed, just as summer has given way to autumn. I’m eager to discover what He has for me in this new season and to begin living in the fullness of what He designed. Thank you, Jane, for your two latest postings.

Excellent word, Jane! I love where God has us right now and dreaming of the day when we all “get it” and arise to be His people in the earth – walking on the earth as He did! We are carrying Him and He wants to do amazing things through us!
