What Timing with “Go for Gold!” I’m a published author who wrote Someone Stop This Merry-Go-Round; An Alcoholic Family in Crisis. It’s about losing my husband in 1985 at forty-five years of age. The sequel, Please, God, Not Two: This Killer Called Alcoholism is due out in June. It’s about losing my daughter in 2006 at thirty-nine to the same demon.

I was telling my dear friend, Arlene, about the stress I was under with speaking engagements in halfway homes, alcoholic rehabs, the Magnificat ( the Catholic Woman’s Ministry) and other locations. I’m trying to reach out and help others with many roadblocks in my way.

Arlene said, “The closer we get to God, the harder Satan is trying to stop us.” She also mentioned anyone doing God’s work would run into hardships. It’s up to us with our faith to keep going to complete His plan for us.

So when I read “Go for Gold” it hit home a few days after my conversation with Arlene. God sends us messages in odd ways.

Your really hit the target, Jane. I have been teaching the very same thing! I think God is urging all of us to stretch our faith to expect His miracles on a daily basis, and to declare that we can live in His kingdom here and now.

Awesome, awesome and TIMELY. I loved the bit that said: “Mary….CHOOSE (my emphasis) I love that..everything is a CHOICE…some choose to walk with GOD in one hand and the enemy in the other…some choose to play games…some choose to be all Jesus…”according to YOUR WORD LORD”. Jane keep on Blogging I love it…I love it that we recognise that we can’t fight this WAR with old tools!

I have been pondering thesE very scriptures all this month as I took to heart two things I’ve heard recently. One was when Mike Bickle spoke at Conference; “if your heart doesn’t grow as quickly as your mind and your understanding, you lose discernment.” This month, I heard Bill Johnson say that “any teaching that does not lead you into an encounter with God simply makes you more religious.” Too true. I want to know the presence of GOD!

Thank you for this word Jane! I have been thinking a lot about Mary lately and the faith she needed to carry her through the many months of nasty looks and accusations. She kept her focus. Praise God He works things out for our good and we will see the immoveable be moved!!!! Aglow is united!
