Saturday PM Session

October 3rd, 2010

On Saturday evening we had the privilege of once again hearing from Ray Hughes. And of course, Klaus and his team led worship — which has been fantastic. Klaus has a sensitivity to the spirit and a dynamic worship style that fits in so well with Aglow. It feels like he’s been doing Aglow conferences for years.

No Two Raindrops
Ray’s message once again centered on the them of sound. He shared with us that no two raindrops sound alike. And that rain in one part of the country sounds differently than rain in another. This is because of many factors, such as the salt content in the water. A very special moment during the evening was when Ray asked us all to start snapping our fingers — not in unison, but randomly. The effect was very similar to the sound of rain. He had us close our eyes and imagine that all the “stuff” from our past was being washed away and that we were being made new. As my eyes were closed it seemed to me that the sound was growing — like the rain was pouring harder. It was a powerful time.

Anointed Cherib
Ray shared that Satan was called the “anointed cherib that covers the throne of God.” When he was kicked out of Heaven, the throne of God was no longer covered. God then created a people that would worship Him and provide that covering once again. That’s why the Word says that God is enthroned on the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). It’s also why the enemy has always directed his attacks to music in the church.

Another point that Ray made: “To whatever degree we worship God, so shall He give us His heart.”

End of the Famine
Ray’s final point: The sound God is creating will break a blight of the hearing of the Word of the Lord in the land.

“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD,
“when I will send a famine through the land—
not a famine of food or a thirst for water,
but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
Amos 8:11

I would love to have a copy of Graham Cooke’s message Ambassadors of the true gospel? Is there any place we could purchase it or download it?
